The Chevy Chase Farmers’ Market is a necessary neighborhood amenity that has operated successfully on the grounds at the southwest corner of the Lafayette Elementary School (the northeast corner of Broad Branch Road and Northampton Street, NW) Since 2002. The market is open year-round on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The market is a producer-only market, which means that you may sell only items that you have produced at your farm/establishment. NO resale of products. We aim to provide fresh produce, flowers, plants, meats, cheeses, seafood, baked goods, and Fruits to the Chevy Chase community while promoting sustainable agriculture. Sustainable agriculture requires economic viability, eco-friendly production techniques that preserve water and soil resources (e.g., organic, IPM, and biodynamic), limited transport of food and dependence on fossil fuels, and a strong connection between the producers and the consumers. We developed our rules with the intent of fostering a vibrant market that serves the community with high-quality, safe food while boosting the local farming economy to preserve our agricultural heritage.
If you are interested in selling at our market, you can apply.
